Australian Traveller Media Launches New Sister Publication: International Traveller Magazine

Following on the success of Australian Traveller magazine, Australian Traveller Media launches International Traveller, a new publication for Australians travelling abroad, out 9 May.

"This is all thanks to our readers. They told us they loved what we do for travel in Australia but they also travel overseas. They asked us to replicate the magazine for their international travel as well," says International Traveller Editor, Quentin Long.

"We are able to leverage our marketing position to enter the market strongly," continues Long. "As a recognised publishing house we have three competitive advantages: quality editorial; wide distribution and circulation; and firmly established PR and marketing."

This is evident when reviewing International Traveller's founding advertising partners: Air Asia, Tourism Oman, TUI Marine, Wendy Wu Tours, Tucan Travel, Peregrine and Toga Hospitality to name a few.

Industry data supports the magazine's launch. In April 2012, the Australian Tourism and Transport Forum declared that the number of Australians travelling overseas rose 9.1% in just one month, whilst three quarters of the monthly outbound growth was to Asian destinations like Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.

"These are incredible statistics," says Long. "With Australians travelling overseas in greater numbers than ever before largely due to the strength in the Aussie dollar, there's never been a better time to inspire and service them editorially."

The magazine covers travel news and trends in every continent, with reviews of hotels, resorts, restaurants and experiences, as well as authoritative and entertaining features on original travel locations and new discoveries in the more iconic destinations. "Our editorial covers the entire travel spectrum from adventure tourism to luxury escapes, ranging from zero to six stars," says Long.

Major features for the launch issue include:

THE ASIA ISSUE: AWESOME BEACH, CULTURE AND ADVENTURE HOLIDAYS FOR LESS

PLUS 20 NEW EURO HOTSPOTS FOR 2012: GET THE BIGGEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK

The second issue will hit the stands on 7 November, with the aim to increase the frequency to a bi-monthly publication in 2013.

The magazine is available at all good newsagents and Woolworths stores nationally
