Going Retro through Swiss Country

The quirky concept of seeing the Swiss countryside in a retro-style country bus has proven a popular sell-out in the picturesque Lake Geneva regions of Moudon and Echallens.

Launched for the very first time in Switzerland in April this year, the service which has been running once a month since April has been very popular with travellers touring the region over the spring and summer months. The hop-on and hop-off service takes passengers to 15 stops in the Bus Découvertes50km loop from Bercher to Moudon. Each stop offers visitors different attractions and activities including hiking and cycling, recreational theme parks, restaurants and more.

Agents can offer this service to travellers visiting Moudon and Echallens, which are slightly off the beaten track, featuring small and quaint villages, quiet walking trails and unique traditions.

This service is not included in the Swiss Pass. Advanced bookings cost 20CHF for families, 7CHF for adults and 4 CHF for kids. However, bought on the bus, it’s 25CHF for families, 8CHF for adults and 5CHF for kids.

This retro bus service will run two more times before the season ends this year. The dates are 10 August and 7 September. Advanced bookings are advised as the service is limited to 40 passengers at any one time.

The service will continue run again during the spring and summer months next year.
