New Social Enterprise to Provide Travellers with a Real Way to Make A Difference

TravelGiver.com – the new website for the socially conscious traveller who wants to give while they travel, at no extra cost. At TravelGiver.com, consumers can simultaneously book travel through leading Online Travel Agents and donate to worthwhile projects. The business model is simple, half the commission earned is donated to project of the users choice, the other half is retained by the website.

TravelGiver.com allows travellers to research projects (grass root initiatives set up by non-governmental organisations to assist communities in need) on one website, share experiences, make travel bookings and at no extra cost, give to projects of their choice. There is currently nothing else that ties travel, philanthropy, user reviews, and giving without paying more all into one service. TravelGiver.com can be used to book flights, accommodation, packages, car rental etc., both domestic and overseas.

The website founded by Kimi Anderson, has already taken its first bookings. Ms. Anderson says “It’s amazing how many people these days want to make a change but don’t know where to start and also, now that we are more experienced travellers, we are looking for a more transformational travel experience. TravelGiver.com allows one to feel good about giving and if they are going to a project destination, they can also research projects that can be visited and what one can take. I can guarantee you that a few hours at a good project will be the highlight of everyone’s two week holiday”.

Ms. Anderson, has personally funded this enterprise. Wife and mother of one in Sydney, she has more than fifteen years experience in sales and marketing, the last twelve with a global accommodation chain. Ms. Anderson says “I have enjoyed a life full of opportunities and am surrounded by a loving family and friends. Knowing how lucky and fortunate I have been, by way of giving back, I am launching TravelGiver.com with four clear objectives:

· Raise awareness of the amazing projects that are out there – give them a voice and help them to raise funds

· Provide a forum for people to research projects and destinations, share their experiences and contribute to human change.

· Use technology to really enrich peoples lives

· Develop a business model that is sustainable, utilises my experience, knowledge and networks and, change the lives of many.”

TravelGiver.com was launched only in May 2013 and it is already taking bookings on a daily basis. The site originally launched partnering with Zuji, booking.com, Best Western and Accor hotels and projects in Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand. Since launch, new online partners connections with Tingo and hostelworld.com have gone live and projects in Australia, Tanzania, Myanma, Peru and India have been added. More online partner connections and projects will be added in coming weeks.
