Princely hotel suite renamed as tribute to George

Pullman Brisbane King George Square Presidential Suite receives royal name revamp

Brisbane's appropriately named Pullman Brisbane King George Square has renamed its best room in the house, formerly known as the Presidential Suite, to the Prince George Suite, in honour of the royal birth.

Pullman's General Manager Grant Parnell said, "Our top-suite's presidential title seemed a little disconnected to the hotel's name which already has a monarchical connection to King George V. The arrival of Prince George as the newest member of the royal family this week has provided us with the perfect excuse to bestow it with a fresh new title on our favourite suite to commemorate this special occasion in royal style."

The name George - chosen for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's baby son - is synonymous with British kings including the new Prince's great, great grandfather, King George VI, and King George V.

"Following the death of King George V in 1936, Brisbane's King George Square was widened to include the area which had been Albert Street, and renamed in honour of the King. So we are just keeping with the renaming tradition.," added Mr Parnell.

To help continue keep the royal celebration, the five-star Pullman hotel (located opposite King George Square and Brisbane's Town Hall) is offering any guest that makes a reservation to stay in a room on its Executive Club floor this July and August a complimentary upgrade to experience Pullman's royal treatment and the regal Prince George Suite for themselves.

Mr Parnell said, "We only have one Prince George Suite available, so obviously it's a case of first in, first served to take advantage of this offer."

Pullman's Executive Club floor rooms include access to the hotel's newly opened Executive Lounge which offers Club floor guests complimentary breakfast, drinks, canapés and wifi, and an exclusive area to work, relax and entertain. Fit for a king, the Prince George Suite offers beautiful view over King George Square and St John's cathedral, and features a separate living area, dining room and luxurious master bedroom with ensuite with signature amenities.

The Prince George Suite upgrade offer is available on request only and is strictly subject to availability.

Following an extensive $7 million renovation and upgrade program, the hotel is now one of the city's most glamorous five-star addresses, with all 210-guestrooms in the former Sebel tower dramatically transformed to become the sophisticated Pullman Brisbane King George Square in May this year.

Executive Club Floor room rates start from $299 per room per night, while the Prince George Suite is available from the princely sum of $499 per night. To make an enquiry or to book, contact the hotel on 07 3229 9111 or visit www.pullmanbrisbanekgs.com.au
