Tourvest Destination Management Expands Regional Product With Overland Tours

Two overland regional guided tours with scheduled departures were launched at this year’s Indaba by Tourvest Destination Management (TDM).  The tours will explore natural attractions in Botswana and Zimbabwe.

The Botswana tour, named the Classic Botswana Explorer Safari, is a nine-day luxury mobile safari commencing in Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta, combining both overland and air transfers.

From the delta it moves on to the Moremi Wildlife Reserve and Chobe National Park, ending off at Zimbabwe’s Victoria Falls.  A minimum/maximum of four to six participants ensures exclusivity.

Camping is in dome-style tents with en-suite facilities at designated camping concessions and there is a registered driver guide throughout the trip.  All meals, drinks, transfers, park entrance and camping fees as well as all game viewing activities are included in the price.

The Classic Zimbabwe Explorer Safari combines both overland and air transport, while accommodation includes both luxury mobile tented camps and lodges.  Starting at Victoria Falls and rounding off in Harare, it includes Hwange National Park, Matopos National Park, Bulawayo, Masvingo, Harare, Mana Pools National Park and Matusadona National Park.  Some of the activities incorporated are a sundowner cruise at Victoria Falls and a tour of the Great Zimbabwe Ruins.  Most meals, drinks, road and air transfers, park entrance and camping fees and the services of a registered driver guide throughout are covered in the overall tour cost.  Groups are also kept to an exclusive four to six participants.

The current programme to both countries will run from November 2013 through to October 2014.
