Top notch room refurbishment for Top End hotel Novotel Darwin Atrium reveals multimillion dollar update

Accor’s Novotel Darwin Atrium hotel has unveiled a $5 million dollar guest room refurbishment in time
'14 Novotel Darwin Atrium exterior and panoramato celebrate its 26th anniversary as one of the Top End’s top hotels.

Novotel Darwin Atrium General Manager Ajay Vaid said the stylish update has provided a fresh new look for the popular Esplanade hotel.“The Novotel is already one of Darwin’s favourite hotels with a great location overlooking the water, but our recent next guestroom update has provided a welcome update and new design that we hope will re-humanise the travel experience and reenergise our guests,” he said.
Novotel Darwin Atrium now boasts the contemporary Novotel Next generation room concept which is championed by the brand worldwide. Novotel’s Next guestroom was launched in 2011 as the brand’s archetype ‘future room’ design. The concept continues to be rolled out, with a view to have all 400 Novotel hotels and resorts in 60 countries offering the design by 2018.
Novatel DarwinPart of the Next room design appeal is its impression of spaciousness and freedom of movement through the use of transparency. The guestroom no longer has physical separators, instead featuring an open plan that encourages guests to create their own spaces and atmosphere. The Novotel Darwin Atrium refurbishment has extended across all 140 guest rooms at the hotel, including standard rooms, superior rooms, junior suites and two-bedroom apartments. With a contemporary colour scheme amid splashes of red, striking new bed head designs, plush new beds and bedding, connectivity for portable Apple devices, 36” televisions, a variety of lighting.
“We’ve adopted the concept in Darwin with modern decor and clever use of colour to give an overall impression of spaciousness and freedom of movement,” said Mr Vaid.  “By incorporating Novotel Next use of the colour red into our rooms, we’ve not only injected new energy into each space, but reflect the iconic shade travellers so often associate with the Northern Territory’s outback region.”
Novotel Darwin Atrium is located on the Esplanade, one block from the CBD, with commanding views over Darwin Harbour, Bicentennial Park, the garden war memorials, and is close to all the best tourist attractions including market stalls, Stokes Hill Wharf, the Cullen Bay waterfront, museums, tropical parks and gardens.
The hotel has 140 large, cool, well appointed rooms and two-bedroom suites, plus a dramatic cascading interior rainforest that reaches for the ceiling to drop five floors down to the Jabiru bar and Zest rainforest style restaurant below. An outdoor pool and spa area is perfect for relaxing and cooling off after a day in the tropical top end. For conference guests the hotel offers facilities to cater for up to 110 people.
