Known as the world’s leading travel review and planning website, Trip Advisor enables guests to review activities, accommodation, restaurants and bars and give honest personal opinion and feedback.
Shotover Jet General Manager Clark Scott said the company loved receiving feedback from customers.
“It’s how we manage to continually offer a competitive, fun experience. Without it we couldn’t grow and develop and incorporate new and exciting things,” said Mr Scott.
“The fact that 1,000 people have taken the time to put ‘pen to paper’ -- so to speak -- is great. It means a lot to us and the fact this makes us the number one reviewed single activity on Trip Advisor –with almost twice as many reviews as similar activities – is huge.”
“Shotover Jet is one of New Zealand’s most iconic and must-do activities and obviously people agree. It really strikes a chord with our passengers, they love it. So much so they’re compelled to tell others.”
Byron from Australia said in his Trip Advisor review that Shotover Jet was the “scariest most exhilarating boat ride in my life”.
He added: “I had no control, I was apprehensive initially, sitting on the port side of the jet boat near the engines at the rear. Getting wet in near freezing conditions heightened my senses and eventual trust in the pilot made for some of the best adrenalin pumping excitement of my 65 years -- 44 years as a game boat captain/fisherman. I highly recommend the experience to anyone and everyone. What a blast.”
Maria from New Zealand said “if it's good enough for The Cambridges - it's good enough for the NZ taxpayers. Quite a scintillating experience,” she said.
Other comments received over the six years Shotover Jet has been listed on the site include, “Wow - best thrill of the year, hold on to your hat, wild jet boat ride, the best adrenaline rush in Queenstown that doesn't involve heights and elastic, and thrilling to the bone”.
Shotover Jet receives Trip Advisor Awards for Excellence year-in, year-out and the latest milestone adds to the company’s already impressive list of testimonials and positive customer feedback it receives in person and via emails and other review sites.
“The tourism market has changed over the last 5-10 years and now everyone goes online to find out what to do when they’re in Queenstown. Positive and consistently good feedback is crucial and we’re proud to receive such great reviews. Long may they continue,” said Mr Scott.
