Enjoy Jakarta Golf - Global Campaign Launched in Australia

Jakarta's first coordinated international golf tourism promotion has teed off with the unveiling of a new campaign aimed at Australia and other key markets called Enjoy Jakarta Golf. The initiative comes as Jakarta prepares to host the fourth Asia Golf Tourism Convention (AGTC) organised by global golf tourism industry organisation IAGTO, in April 2015.

Hari Wibowo, Manager of International Promotion for Enjoy Jakarta, said, "Today we begin a six-month program of promotions in Australia, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Korea and the Philippines to deliver a clear message to golfers that they should consider Jakarta for their next golf break."

"We have named the campaign Enjoy Jakarta Golf and this is exactly what we are inviting Australian golfers and others from around the world to do!  There are 30 golf courses in and around Jakarta and we know, after two years of working with this lucrative niche segment, that golf visitors really love the Jakarta golf experience.  It is the quality of the courses, the caddy culture, the sheer variety and accessibility of the experience, and the clubhouse hospitality that are enticing Australian and other golfers to take a golf holiday in Jakarta."

The campaign will include a range of activities. Among them will be:

• Broadcasting Enjoy Jakarta Golf on TV, in-flight TV and other digital platforms worldwide

• Launching a Enjoy Jakarta Golf website in multiple languages

• Promoting Enjoy Jakarta Golf in golf and travel publications in key markets across Asia/Australasia

• Communicating with more than 500 golf tour operators worldwide

• Attending the International Golf Travel Market in Italy in October.

To coincide with the announcement of the Enjoy Jakarta Golf  campaign, IAGTO has today launched its website to promote attendance of the Asia Golf Tourism Convention 2015. The website (www.iagto.com/AGTC) sets out the event program and invites registrations for the convention that will attract more than 500 delegates from 30 countries involved in the Asia Pacific golf tourism industry.

IAGTO Chief Executive Peter Walton said Jakarta is a vibrant and accessible city that offers an exceptional golf product with exceptional value for money.

"As a city golf destination it is hard to beat. Most of all, I'm looking forward to showcasing Enjoy Jakarta Golf to more than 150 golf tour operators and leaders of Asia Pacific's golf tourism industry next April."

Arie Budhiman, Executive Director of the city's Tourism & Culture Office, said the Convention will be the most important global golf tourism event for the Asia Pacific region.

"The promotion that begins today is part of a long-term integrated golf tourism strategy designed to attract more high-spending visitors from across the Asia Pacific region and from around the world.  Golf tourism is a growth market with sales by IAGTO golf tour operators having grown by 21.4% over the past 2 years. We know that Jakarta offers one of the best city golf experiences on the planet, so we encourage all golfers to come and try the Jakarta golf experience."

Dr Sylviana Murni, Jakarta Deputy Governor for Culture and Tourism, said, "We are excited to be the host of AGTC 2015.  We guarantee that sellers and buyers will have a wonderful experience and enjoy Jakarta."

"Our ultimate goal is to play an important role in expanding the golf tourism market, not only to Indonesia, but throughout Asia.  We look forward to welcoming the world's golf tourism community to our wonderful city in April 2015 in order to Enjoy Jakarta Golf!"

The Asia Golf Tourism Convention will take place from 27-30 April 2015 at the Balai Sindang Jakarta Convention Center.
