Possibly Australia's Most Beautiful Walking Destination, Waterfall Way NSW

At Auswalk we have always been committed to creating great walking experiences and staying ahead of the curve. Our Waterfall Way trip in central New South Wales meets this criteria and more. It is a truly eclectic environment, an untapped, raw landscape which offers an abundant array of fauna and flora. With World Heritage rainforests, waterfalls and amazing escarpment country this is another one of Australia's best kept secrets.

Waterfall Way Border Ranges

Dorrigo National Park, part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area offers stunning scenery that has been millions of years in the making. The walk will take you onto Skywalk for a birds eye view of the rainforest canopy. You can see over the remote Bellinger Valley and all the way to the ocean. The massive rainforest trees nearly blot out the sky, leaving numerous palms, vines, creepers and ground covers struggling to catch whatever sunlight they can.

The walking is stunningly diverse. Expect hiking through mountain ranges, subtropical rainforests and beside delightful streams. The waterfalls on the Guy Fawkes River plunge over steep basalt ledges into a vast wilderness area. Marvel at Wollomombi Falls, the highest waterfall in NSW and the second highest in all of Australia.

At Cathedral Rock you'll find Snowgums and huge granite boulders that agile walkers can climb to the top of. New England National Park reaches 1564 metres above sea level and there's nothing to interrupt the view. This park is a mysterious melting pot and a truly eclectic environment, the scenery could be right out of the Lord of the Rings, with Antarctic beech trees draped in mosses and lichen.

Challenge yourself on a long gorge hike at Dangar Falls. Lookouts along the route offer stunning views over astonishing wild gorge country.

Of course we can't think of a better way to reward a captivating day on the trail than a delicious meal, a glass (or two) of local wine and a comfortable bed, all in good preparation for the next day of awe inspiring walking.

Auswalk tour departs Coffs harbour on the 2nd April 2016, from $2495 this includes two guides, all transport from Coffs Harbour, 6 nights accommodation, 6 breakfasts, 5 lunches, 5 dinners , 5 1/2 days walking and transport.
