Queenstown is set to be beamed into over a million Australian homes as Australia's number one TV breakfast program Sunrise is set to descend on Novotel Queenstown Lakeside to film winter wonders around town.
Perfectly timed with the recent snowfalls, Sunrise will broadcast live from Queenstown over two days on 19-20 June, in the first time the show has ever filmed in New Zealand.

General Manager of Novotel Queenstown Lakeside, Jim Moore, said “We are thrilled to partner with Sunrise and Tourism New Zealand to promote our alpine wonderland and entice Australian's to hop across the ditch for an unforgettable winter resort experience.”
“We've off to a great ski season with early snowfalls this month, so the Sunrise team and their 60 lucky viewers are sure to experience Queenstown in its element and we look forward to accommodating them while the live filming takes place.”
Sunrise viewers will also be treated to an exclusive welcome function at Novotel Queenstown Lakeside and trivia dinner with Sunrise hosts David Koch, Samantha Armytage, Mark Beretta, Natalie Barr and Edwina Bartholomew.
Viewers will also visit the remote Skippers Canyon, enjoy a signature lunch at Amisfield Winery & Bistro overlooking Lake Hayes and sip cocktails surrounded by over 18 tonnes of ice architecture at Minus 5 ICEBAR.
The filming will include live weather crosses from the South Island's magical winter locations including Mt Hutt, Tekapo, Mackenzie, Remarkables and Wanaka every day from Monday 16 June in the lead up to live action from Coronet Peak on Thursday 19 June with the Sunrise Cash Cow.
The partnership between Tourism New Zealand, Accor and the Network Seven was secured through Tourism New Zealand Australia and follows the launch of Tourism New Zealand's latest 'More magic in every day' winter advertising campaign designed to encourage Australians to discover more winter magic adventures with friends in New Zealand.
