His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama has blessed a tree at Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains MGallery on the edge of the picturesque Jamison Valley, coinciding with the 20th year of Planet Ark's National Tree Day.
His Holiness' blessing of the weeping spruce tree symbolised the importance of environment protection as a universal responsibility and will help provide an atmosphere of natural beauty, happiness and serenity as the focal point for the resort's wellness centre for years to come.
“His Holiness the Dalai Lama's stay at Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains has been an incredible experience. The tree blessing ceremony His Holiness carried out is aligned with our commitment to AccorHotels Planet 21 initiatives which are intrinsically linked to sustainable development and the goal of protecting our planet, its people and their environment,” said Bernie Boller, General Manager for Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains.
“It is wonderful that His Holiness could bless one of our trees to coincide with Plant Ark's 20-year milestone of National Tree Day and we hope it encourages more people to be more mindful of our environment and do all they can to care for the planet.”
The tree blessing ceremony at Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains caps off a six-night stay at the resort, where His Holiness the Dalai Lama undertook five days of teachings which included Highest Yoga Tantra Initiation sessions and Teachings for serious Buddhist practitioners.
