Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) will be hosting a MICE Luncheon on July 24 (Wed) at The Establishment Room in Sydney in order to attract incentive travel and corporate meeting groups in Australia and New Zealand.
The event will be participated by over 60 global business incentive groups, meeting planners, journalists, and other industry partners. Attending guests can expect to meet representatives from Korea Tourism Organization, as well as Seoul Tourism Organization, Busan Tourism Organization, and Destination Marketing Services.
The MICE luncheon will showcase Korea's offerings as a top meeting destination to influential Australia & New Zealand buyers - introducing new unique venues, popular tourist attractions, and Korea's support program for incentive travel and corporate meetings. Participants of the event will also have the opportunity to experience modern Korean culture, starting with a sumptuous lunch, fun activities with Virtual Reality (VR) gear, and a lucky draw where winners can win special prizes, including a roundtrip ticket to Korea.
According to KTO's recent report, the total number of visitor arrivals from Australia and New Zealand has reached an estimated total of 187,338 in 2018. With an approximately 15% growth from the previous year, Australia has shown increasing interest in Korea tourism. As a result, Korea is currently devising a marketing strategy to expand and diversify its MICE market and offerings.
"We are very excited to showcase Korea to the Australian and New Zealand Market – especially with the opening of new direct flights from Auckland and Gold Coast. This event is a perfect opportunity for attendees to network and learn more about the country as a business events destination" said Mr. Tai Hwan Kim, Director of Korea Tourism Organization - Sydney Office.
Korea is one of the most preferred countries for meetings in the world based on the Union of International Associations' (UIA) Global Meetings Statistics, with 854 hosted in 2018. Korea is famous for its unique offerings, especially for its perfect blend of rich history and modern charms, numerous UNESCO world heritage site, 24-hour shopping experience, and a phenomenal growing interest in Hallyu Korean Wave.
