Take your teambuilding high and wild

After a year of separation, Zoom meetings and working in pyjamas, it’s time to reconnect your team with a leap out of their comfort zone with High and Wild Australian Adventures.

Surrounded by the rugged beauty of glowing cliffs and plunging canyons of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, the Katoomba-based outdoor adventure company offers tailored corporate team abseiling, rock climbing, canyoning and bush survival experiences.

An ideal way to develop group cohesion, strengthen bonds, boost morale, reward a team achievement, sweep away the Covid blues and uncover hidden strengths, outdoor teambuilding activities are also fun.

High and Wild offers a range of activities from a half-day adrenaline-boosting abseiling trip to an epic overnight bush survival adventure.

Leading Blue Mountains adventure tours since 1989, High and Wild aims to share the beauty and wonder of the region.

The company boasts a 100 per cent safety record under the one owner for the past 25 years.

Teambuilding activity options include:
  • Winter canyoning (from May to August) to Juggler, Tigersnake, Deep Pass or River Caves canyons. All the adventure without being submerged in water. Includes gourmet lunch.
  • Two-day bush survival skills. Feel confident when exploring the wilderness by learning how to stay alive and avoid life-threatening situations. Includes shelter-building; how to find, collect and purify water; light fires without matches; bush tucker plants and medicines; navigation; and first aid.
  • Abseiling. From a half-day abseiling adventure for beginners (5m working up to a 30m drop) and The Super Jump full-day 60m venture for the serious adrenalin junkies to the Boars Head and Malaita Point for those with previous experience.
  • Abseiling and rock climbing combo. Experience both activities in one day.
High and Wild owner Aidan McGarry said: ``Sharing a high adrenalin moment with someone, especially working through fear and anxiety, is a powerful way to form a long-lasting relationship.

``The feeling of having moral support and encouragement from a colleague when you’re working through a challenge lasts long after you reach the bottom of the cliff. That trust and respect is there for the duration of the trip and survives through the toughest board meetings, deadlines and bad days at the office.’’

Just 90 minutes from Sydney CBD, High and Wild teambuilding activities can be conducted as daytrips sessions.

However, for best teambuilding results, stay at least one night in one of the many hotels, guesthouses or private B&Bs; talk shop over fresh regional produce at a local café or restaurant; and bolt on another activity.

Contact Aidan McGarry at info@highandwild.com.au or 02 4782 6224 to discuss how High and Wild can tailor teambuilding activities for your team.
Mention ``Winter Refresh’’ when you book a corporate teambuilding activity to receive a 10% discount.
  • Gourmet lunch included for every participant on full-day tours
