Coral Princess Celebrates Maiden Call to Port Douglas


Port Douglas welcomed the first cruise ship after two years.

Tour operator Jason Heffernan from Port Douglas is happy to have back the cruise visitors.

Heffernan is glad to see more people coming back and visiting Port Douglas for vacations. He believes that's what the town needs after feeling a slump in business

Carmen Stevenson, General Manager of Bob Wood Cruise Group say that they are happy that they are part of the cruise industry which has such a positive impact on the community.

The Coral Princess will make 9 stops. This is the first Medallion Class ship to sail from Brisbane. Her 10th year of sailing from Queensland launches in Australia. Coral Princess has a new simplified experience for guests, connecting them with their vacations more than ever before.

Tourism is on the rise and visits to Port Douglas will generate $4.9M for the town, benefitting local operators in the tourism industry.
