Travel writer, author and sustainability expert, Nina Karnikowski, is bringing her mindful living skills to the Himalaya with World Expeditions in October this year.
Nina will be leading trekkers on a 15 day adventure for those keen to tap into conscious travel while exploring the Everest region of Nepal. The author of Go Lightly, How to Travel Without Hurting the Planet and the upcoming travel memoir The Mindful Traveller will offer up insights about reflective writing, mindful photography and deeper connection to place, and lead structured workshops and contemplative walks on the trail.
Trekkers will experience the villages and culture of the Sherpa people in the Himalaya region, take time to explore the colourful markets of Namche Bazaar and the spiritual heart of the Khumbu region, the famous Thyangboche monastery.
The tour includes a lively discussion program plus an exclusive meet up in Kathmandu with Dr Ananda Shova of Nepal NGO T-Help (Trans Himalayan Environment and Livelihood Program) who will open conversation on regenerative travel and women's organic farming in the region.
"This trip is for anyone wanting to travel in a way that is as nourishing for the places we visit as they are for us," says Nina who sits on The Conscious Travel Foundation's panel of experts.
""I can't wait to deepen this spectacular journey through journaling practices, connecting to the landscape and to the local Sherpa people, and discussions about our place in the natural world as we all hike together."
The Mindful Travel in the Himalaya with Nina Karnikowski tour runs from October 13 to 27 and includes 14 nights accommodation in a boutique hotel, private eco-comfort camp and an eco-lodge with most meals included.
Professional trekking guides, private transportation and porters make the adventure even more comfortable, so walkers can truly dive deep into the mindful nature experience.
The tour cost starts from AUD$5690. Visit the tour link here.
