ASEAN Explorer Pass to Open Up the Region

Report By David Bowden

AirAsia MOVE (formerly known as AirAsia Superapp), a digital venture by Malaysia’s Capital A Berhad, continues with its endeavours to become a leading online travel agent (OTA) platform that champions and connects all the ten ASEAN nations (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) with its recent introduction of the ‘ASEAN Explorer Pass’.

The ASEAN Explorer Pass is an annual travel pass that allows subscribers to explore the ASEAN region via AirAsia’s international and domestic flight network, enjoy hotel discounts, as well as connectivity on-ground through AirAsia Ride for 12 months from the date of subscription. Conditions apply with flights redeemed as zero base fare flights, and exclude airport/government taxes, add-ons, and other charges. Seat allocation for each flight is dependent on the supply and demand on particular routes. Domestic destinations can be redeemed in countries other than their own in Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia (based on the nationality of the passport holder).

The launch of the ASEAN Explorer Pass took place in Kuala Lumpur on April 25 and was officiated by YB Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture Malaysia, alongside esteemed guests such as Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A and Executive Chairman of MOVE Digital, and Tan Sri Nazir Razak, Chairman of ASEAN-BAC Malaysia.

From now until April 30, the ASEAN Explorer Pass is available at an early bird promotional price of RM999 or RM89.91 month, accessible via the AirAsia MOVE app. After April 30, the pass will revert to its original price of RM1,188, or RM106.92 per month.

AirAsia MOVE includes a comprehensive range of OTA services, from flight bookings across 700 airlines to accommodation at 900,000 hotels around the globe, along with ride-hailing, dining, and insurance options, all underpinned by its MOVE Rewards Loyalty Programme.

The AirAsia MOVE app is available for download on major app stores, offering seamless access to a myriad of travel-related services. Terms and conditions apply to the ASEAN Explorer Pass.
