The award-winning tourism company hosted Loren Selleck from Fort Worth in Texas who was accompanied by his 66-year-old daughter Karin Selleck, also from Texas.
The adventurous pair were among eight other ‘zippers’ to take part in the thrilling “multi-generational” tour yesterday which included children as young as eight - an age range of 83 years.
Mr Selleck is the oldest ‘zipper’ to complete the Ziptrek Ecotours course since the company’s inception four years ago.
Ziptrek Ecotours Sales and Marketing Manager Nicky Busst said the team was “thrilled” to see such a varied group enjoying the Ziptrek experience.
“It really shows the diversity of our tours. They’re suitable for everyone, no matter their age or ability,” said Mrs Busst.
“We’ve had people of all ages zipping in the past. Yesterday it was really great to see such a diverse group of people taking part in the one trip. It really sums up what Ziptrek Ecotours is all about.”
“It’s pretty phenomenal to see someone aged 91 living life to its fullest, embracing it and still creating memories,” Mrs Busst said.
Completing the course “with absolute ease” Mr Selleck praised the Ziptrek staff for making the experience an enjoyable and memorable part of his New Zealand holiday.
"The guides are outstanding as is the lady in the sales office. At 91 years old I’m qualified to make statements like that about people,” he laughed.
“It was fantastic; the entire journey, experience and atmosphere is very, very attractive."
