Surf's Up for a New Wave of Female Travellers

SHE travels is introducing 'Surf & Stay' trips to Bali for women wanting adventure by day, luxury by night, and a healthy dose of pampering.

Director of SHE travels, Suzanne Hart, says she founded the company in 2010 because an increasing number of women were looking for a travel experience tailored specifically to them.

"There are so many women out there who always wanted to learn to surf but were too scared, thought they were too old or just didn't know where to start," says Ms Hart.

"Our small group sizes – we have no more than eight people per trip – also makes it perfect for incentive travel groups.

"Overall, we've found that women are drawn to the idea of spoiling themselves whilst learning a new skill, which is why we've launched SHE surfs."

Nine Surf & Stay experiences are currently planned for 2014 with the first scheduled for 29 March – 4 April. Surf lessons can also be catered to intermediate-level surfers.

"It's not surprising to me how many women would love to learn to surf with so many of us having grown up near the water, watching the boys have all the fun!" says Ms Hart.

The Surf & Stay trips are based in a private villa resort in the heart of cosmopolitan Seminyak with tropical gardens and private swimming pools. SHE travels offers single accommodation only; no additional supplement is incurred for the luxury of your own room.

The seven-day trip includes an Australian host from SHE travels; surfing sessions each day with local instructors; massages; yoga classes; pampering at a day spa; and a tour of the island's east coast from an insider's perspective.

A combination of private dining and visits to Bali's hot spots will complete the experience "with the added bonus of knowing the calories have been burnt off surfing!" according to Ms Hart. Guests also have the flexibility to take time out on their own.

SHE surfs Surf & Stay is 7 days/6 nights and priced at AUD $3,180 per person including GST; flights are not included; subject to availability; and conditions apply.
