The eleventh annual Luxury Travel magazine Gold List awards have been announced today across various social media platforms though the #LuxTravGoldList hashtag. All winners are published in the Autumn 2015 special issue of the magazine, out on 9 April.
The awards, now in their eleventh year, recognise the best in luxury travel destinations, experiences and operators across a number of categories. Online voting was open to the readers of Luxury Travel magazine and the general public to nominate their favourite operators. Voting in the 2015 awards saw the highest number of entries to date.
“This year's awards include two new categories – Best Romantic Property in both Australia and overseas – bringing the total number of awards to 35,” said Susan Borham, editor-in-chief. “Our readers every year eagerly look forward to the release of our Gold List issue – as a source of information and inspiration to plan their next luxury holiday or adventure,” said Susan.
Each year the Gold List awards also recognise the Hall of Fame winners – those award winners who have won a category for the past five years or more. The 2015 Hall of Fame winners include The Peninsula Hong Kong for Best Overseas Hotel; Thredbo Alpine Village for Best Australian Ski Resort, The Ghan: Adelaide - Darwin for Best Luxury Rail Journey; and Queen Mary II for Best Luxury Cruise Ship: Large.
Along with the reader votes, readers will find a selection of Editor's Picks throughout the categories, highlighting some of the best new properties in luxury travel.
