The results of the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2026 have been announced, celebrating the hotels, resorts, spas, destinations and travel brands setting the benchmark for luxury hospitality across the region.
Released on June 17, the awards were determined through a reader survey conducted between January and April 2026. Nominees were selected by the editorial team and regional contributors at Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Macau, with no paid entry or “pay-to-play” system.
Among the most notable repeat winners was Raffles Singapore, which retained its position as Singapore’s Best Hotel for the fourth consecutive year. Regent Hong Kong also continued its strong run, taking the title of Hong Kong’s Best Hotel for the third year in succession, while The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto was named Japan’s Best City Hotel for a third time.
At regional level, Marina Bay Sands was again recognised as Best Integrated Resort, securing the award for the second consecutive year. The Singapore landmark also won Best Hotel Pool in its home market, further reinforcing its status as one of Asia-Pacific’s most recognisable luxury hospitality destinations.
Other standout regional winners included Galaxy Macau Grand Resort Deck, named Best Hotel Pool overall, and GHA Discovery, which took the award for Best Hotel Loyalty Program. Koh Samui was voted the region’s Best Beach Island, ahead of Phu Quoc and Bali, while specialist operator Smiling Albino was named Best Travel Advisor.
The strongest Australian result came from Chi, The Spa at Shangri-La Sydney, which was awarded Best Australian Hotel Spa. Located within one of Sydney’s best-known luxury hotels, the win places the spa among the region’s leading wellness experiences and gives Australia a prominent position in this year’s awards.
Elsewhere, The Legian Seminyak won Best Beach Resort in Indonesia, JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa topped Thailand’s beach and island resort category, and Shangri-La The Fort, Manila was named the Philippines’ Best City Hotel.
The 2026 results underline both the strength of established luxury brands and the growing competitiveness of Asia-Pacific’s hospitality sector. With repeat champions holding their ground and newer properties entering the rankings, the awards provide a useful snapshot of where travellers are finding the region’s most memorable luxury experiences.
Meanwhile, in Australia, the luxury hospitality sector has again been recognised among the best in the region, with standout hotels, lodges, spas, pools and industry leaders across the country.
Queensland dominated the Beach and Island Hotels category, led by JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa, which retained the top position for a second consecutive year. Other highly ranked properties included InterContinental Hayman Great Barrier Reef, Bedarra Island Resort and Southern Ocean Lodge on Kangaroo Island.
In the city category, Capella Sydney secured its second straight win, praised for its heritage architecture, art collection and central harbour location. W Sydney, The Tasman in Hobart and The Ritz-Carlton Perth also featured prominently.

Tasmania claimed top honours in the Country Hotels and Lodges category, with the ultra-exclusive Kittawa Lodge on King Island taking first place ahead of Jackalope Hotel in Victoria and Saffire Freycinet.
Sydney excelled in wellness and leisure categories. Chi, The Spa at Shangri-La Sydney was named Australia’s best hotel spa, while Crown Towers Sydney won Best Hotel Pool for its striking infinity pool overlooking Sydney Harbour.
The awards also recognised leadership excellence, with JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa general manager Ravinder Dhesi named Australia’s top hotel general manager for the third consecutive year.
The results underline Australia’s growing reputation for destination-driven luxury experiences that combine exceptional service, local character and world-class facilities.
