Tourism WA has launched a series of marketing campaigns, trade initiatives and industry events aimed at increasing domestic and international visitation while supporting tourism development across Western Australia.
The agency recently supported the national premiere of a Western Australia-focused episode of Explore TV on Channel 9 and 9Now. Hosted by Trevor Cochrane, the programme showcased destinations and experiences across the Coral Coast, Golden Outback, South West, Kimberley and Perth, featuring marine tourism, road trips, food and wine experiences, Aboriginal cultural tourism and major events.
Tourism WA has also backed a 24-page ROAM travel supplement in The West Australian promoting the state's winter tourism offering. The publication highlights the Winter of Unmissable Sport programme, the return of the Pair’d Margaret River Region in 2026, and upcoming Calcio Italiano football matches. The campaign is being amplified through digital and social media activity designed to encourage travel during the winter shoulder season.International promotion has included a Pair’d Margaret River Region dinner in London, hosted in partnership with the Agent General of Western Australia and Business Events Perth. The event featured chef Jonny Lake and master sommelier Isa Bal and was aimed at trade and media representatives.
Tourism WA also hosted a familiarisation programme for six east coast travel advisors in Karijini National Park, combining destination experiences with social media and content creation training to increase awareness of the region.Several industry events are scheduled in the coming weeks. These include a cultural tourism forum organised by FACET and Regional Arts WA at Mandoon Estate, expected to attract around 70 tourism and arts representatives; the 2026 Hospitality Expo at Crown Perth; and a workshop examining tourism opportunities associated with the Wadandi Track in the Margaret River region.
The agency is also encouraging operators to participate in Australia Marketplace Japan & Korea 2026 in Tokyo and a pre-marketplace trade mission in Singapore ahead of Australia Marketplace South East Asia 2026, both aimed at strengthening relationships with international travel buyers. In addition, Tourism Australia will host an industry briefing in Perth later this month, providing market updates and tourism trends for local operators.
