Tickets are now on sale for both events. The breathtaking ‘Cirkopolis’ will be performed by Cirque Eloize at Art Centre Melbourne’s State Theatre from October 10 to 12, while European superstar Hatzigiannis will perform with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra at the iconic Sidney Myer Music Bowl on October 18.
Festival-goers will also have a chance to win more than $14,000 worth of airfares and luxury hotel accommodation in New York and Guangzhou, courtesy of China Southern and Accor Hotels. To enter the draw, festival fans can purchase any ticket to a Melbourne Festival event then go online to www.melbournefestival.com.au/newyork and describe in 25 words or less what new discoveries could be made in New York City.
China Southern Regional General Manager Australia/New Zealand Henry He said Cirkopolis and Hatzigiannis would be two of the most memorable highlights of this year’s Melbourne Festival.
“China Southern is delighted to be back for our second year as Melbourne Festival’s official airline partner and to be associated with the festival’s outstanding international reputation,” Mr He said.
“We are proud that China Southern’s vast network now connects so many Australians with family and friends on our Canton Route via Guangzhou, and to be a part of the international cultural exchange that comes with events like the Melbourne Festival,” Mr He said.
The 2014 Melbourne Festival runs from October 10 – 26, with tickets available via www.melbournefestival.com.au.
