For five spectacular nights in September during Canberra's world-class spring festival Floriade, the park will be transformed into a wonderland of giant illuminated flowers, with water lilies floating on the star-lit Nerang Pool and a glowing floral globe.
Tickets to Floriade NightFest are on sale now and the thrill seekers among you can stop by the automotive garden, complete with real traffic lights and street light signs. A heart-racing soundtrack accompanies the light show with revving engines, screeches and countdowns.
Sports fans will love the sports ball garden bed featuring stadium lighting. The catch? You need to jump on a specially-designed pad to power the lights; the more jumps, the brighter they get.
Visitors can also spend the evening meandering through the night markets or sipping a cocktail while listening to some smooth tunes.
You can get your giggle on with side-splitting comedy in The Moonlight Lounge from the likes of two of Australia's favourite comedians, Tom Gleeson and Luke McGregor. Joining these veterans of comedy is rising star Damien Power, along with Melbourne comedian, Kate McLennan. This evening hotspot will also feature DJ performances from Canberra's gentleman of disco DJ Ashley Feraude, along with DJ D'Opus, DJ Faux Real, DJ Logic and DJ Nathan Princi.
The lawns of Stage 88 will be transformed with a weather balloon installation, featuring pockets of circus and musical performance spaces, creating an entertaining journey of discovery. The Cirquaholics Trio will return to Floriade with a sparkling performance of acrobatics, glow balls, hoops and shimmering circus apparatus, while the Rosetski Brothers will charm and captivate with a show of juggling, ballooning, unicycling, magic tricks and other gags. Throughout the moonlit park, you'll also see a host of roaming entertainment.
Floriade NightFest will run from Wednesday 24 September until Sunday 28 September. Tickets can be booked online at www.ticketek.com.au or by phoning 13 28 49.
