Pemako Punakha
Last month a new repository of Bhutan's hidden gems, which will take visitors and guests on an exceptional sojourn never experienced before, opened it's doors. It is Pemako Punakha - a branch of Pemako Hotels. Located on the banks of the Mo Chhu River in Punakha; where the historic Dzong (Fortress of Bliss) stands. Punakha is one of Bhutan's most bountiful valleys and the winter home of the Je Khenpo (Chief Abbot of Bhutan). Pemako Punakha is a collection of 21 luxury tented pool villas. Spread across 30 acres of verdant forest and riverside landscape, each tented villa is a plush hideaway, featuring a private heated pool, expansive decks, Bhutanese design, Serge Ferrari fabrics, copper fixtures, and each villa offering breathtaking views.

Bhutan Welcomes 9,559 Tourists in September
Bhutan welcomed 9,559 guests in September, representing a 34% increase over its forecast of 6,788 arrivals for the month. This brings the total number of visitors to Bhutan between September 23, 2022 to October 01, 2023 to 89,326, while the total number of guests visiting Bhutan from January to September 2023 is 67,673. In September, the top source markets for Bhutan were Inside, the United States, China, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Germany, Singapore, Israel, Indonesia, Australia and Japan.

Jomolhari Mountain Festival
The annual Jomolhari Mountain Festival will be held from October 14-15, 2023 at the Soe village Gewog Centre, an 8-hour walk from Shana Gewog in Paro. The two-day Jomolhari Mountain Festival is a vibrant celebration of Lingzhi's culture, tradition and natural heritage, and celebrates the harmonious coexistence between the highlanders and snow Leopards, dubbed the Ghosts of the Mountains, and raise awareness on conserving this majestic species.
