Amisfield Honoured To Be Hosting Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge

Premium Central Otago wine producer Amisfield is honoured to be hosting the Duke and Duchess
of Cambridge in April at its world-renowned cellar door and bistro.

The official itinerary for the Royal tour of New Zealand includes a visit to Queenstown on Sunday April 13, during which time the Royal couple will visit Amisfield, idyllically located overlooking Lake Hayes.
The event will be co-hosted by members of the Central Otago Winegrowers Association and aims to shine the spotlight on Central Otago wines, the diversity of people who create them, and the local produce to which they are so perfectly matched.
“We’re honoured and privileged to be involved in such a prestigious historical event and trust that this opportunity helps support the continued global development of the Central Otago wine brand,” said Amisfield CEO Craig Erasmus.
“As Queenstown’s reputation as an outdoor activity-based tourist destination continues to grow alongside its appeal as a wine and food destination, we see increasing numbers of local and international visitors here who leave as loyal fans after they’ve experienced our food and wine.

“Our intention is to enable the Royal couple to experience a small part of what our region’s producers have to offer and gain an insight into the uniqueness of our collective story.”
Amisfield has been involved in the Central Otago wine industry for 25 years, and starts its 12th vintage later this month. While still a relatively young winemaking company, Amisfield has become a strong global brand with multiple worldwide wine awards and accolades under its belt, as well as being named New Zealand’s Best Winery Restaurant in the Cuisine NZ Good Food Awards 2013.
