Accor Hotels Pick Up Wins at TAA NSW Awards for Excellence 2014

The TAA NSW Awards for Excellence 2014 saw Accor hotels pick up six awards on a highly competitive awards night.
Mercure Sydney won the Redeveloped Accommodation Hotel of the Year, having unveiled an exciting multi-million dollar revamp recently.

General Manager Greg Brady said, “This is a great win for the hotel which has seen a transformation parallelling the renaissance that the Sydney Central Station precinct is undergoing. The hotel has successfully been revitalised and we look forward to continue playing a key role in Sydney's tourism industry.”
Revenue Manager Joyce De Kruif was awarded the 'Highly Commended' for Revenue/Yield Manager of the Year.
Sofitel Sydney Wentworth took home the award for Revenue/Yield Manager of the Year with Director of Revenue Jeremy Samuels. He has been with the hotel for more than two years, with previous experiences in Revenue as well as Guest Relations.
General Manager Erkin Aytekin said,  "This is an excellent recognition for Jeremy as well as the hotel and we are delighted that we have the best on our team. Revenue management plays an important role and the past years' results have been outstanding with the success of the hotel achieving above-market performance as well as Sofitel Sydney Wentworth's position as Accor's luxury brand in Sydney. ”
Novotel Sydney Central won two Employee of the Year awards in a strong showing.
Conference & Events Sales Manager Sutari Vongkeneta, was awarded the Meetings & Events Employee of the Year. Human Resources ManagerCourtney Visser was awarded the Human Resources Employee of the Year.
General Manager Novotel Sydney Central Danesh Bamji commented, “We are excited that two of our employees have been recognised to be at the top of their professions in NSW. This is a strong testament to the hotel's work culture and employees having the latitude to excel in their roles.”
Sutari Vongkeneta has been with Novotel Sydney Central for more than three years and has previous experience in Guest Relations.
Courtney Visser has been with Novotel Sydney Central for almost a year, with previous experience at other Accor hotels including Mercure Potts Point.  She is also Accor's NSW Champion for Indigenous Employment.
Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains (MGallery collection) was awarded the 'Highly Commended' for Conference Hotel of the Year.
The Tourism Accommodation Australia (NSW) Awards for Excellence are recognised as the most prestigious hospitality awards. The Awards honour the achievement of excellence in a wide range of categories in the accommodation industry.
