Themed with “Pop Up Hong Kong”, this special day was designed to be a platform infused with local elements – uplifting performance by local band KillerSoap, imaginative exhibition of Angryangry’s illustration, compelling instant photo booth with whimsical pops prepared by PhotoGIFT, and a sip and savour of local tastes including two exclusive flavours popcorn handcrafted by SOTE Gourmet Popcorn; guests were provided with an intriguing experience which enlivened senses.
“Ding Ding” Tram Heritage Tour
30 guests were invited to take a break from the day-to-day business routine to enjoy the moving theatre of scenery and street life from a tram. Hand-picked by RNavigator, our in-house expert in discovering hidden gems in the city, this experiential tour of modern Hong Kong from a century-old public transportation uncovered the inside stories of the indigenous Hong Kong vehicle as well as the development of identical places alongside the tramway.
AngryAngry “Pop Up” Art Gallery
Visualizing Hong Kong tradition in a creative and vital way, Angryangry is a local illustrator most known for incorporating traditional components with imaginative elements, redefining the stereotypical representations of Hong Kong. Angryangry’s Pop Up Gallery will showcase his fanciful illustration of Hong Kong at the lower lobby of Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong until the 10 July 2014.
KillerSoap “Pop Up” Concert
A party would not be complete without music. KillerSoap, an up-and-rising local band brought guests a rock-“n”-roll evening with bold performance to reveal the energetic side of Hong Kong. KillerSoap was formed by five music fanatic boys in 2004 and won the champion of Global Battle Of The Bands (China Division) in 2008.
They have since completed two China Tours and released 3 albums which have been featured on CRHK’s and RTHK’s Hit Songs Chart.

Get a pose! PhotoGIFT specially arranged themed pops and instant photo taking booth for “Pop Up Hong Kong Cocktail Event” for guests to capture their unforgettable moment and to share their happiness even after the party.
SOTE “Pop Up” Store
SOTE is the first and only locally made Gourmet Popcorn brand in Hong Kong, using only organic, all-natural ingredients to ensure the best quality of its products. To celebrate the “Global Day of Discovery”, SOTE exclusively invented “The Cha Cha” – black tea flavoured popcorn inspired by Hong Kong style milk tea and “The Nut” – peanut butter popcorn with milky syrup, inspired by the city’s famous peanut butter condensed milk toast. These unique concoctions were only available at “Pop Up Hong Kong Cocktail Event”.
The event is taking place simultaneously with 155 Renaissance Hotels around the world, celebrating the brand’s third annual of “Global Day of Discovery.”
