Big Day Out at Ekka With AccorHotels Brisbane

AccorHotels is partnering with the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) for the second year as its 'Blue Ribbon Sponsor' encouraging Queenslanders to visit the state's most loved annual event with exclusive accommodation and event packages.
The iconic Brisbane show will run over two weekends from Friday 7 to Sunday 16 August 2015, with AccorHotels being Ekka's preferred domestic accommodation provider for the event.
As the largest hotel network in Brisbane, AccorHotels is offering a great selection of convenient CBD stay and play packages for Ekka-enthusiasts at a choice of eight participating hotels.
“Following last year's success, we are excited to partner with the Royal Queensland Show to offer special rates to help more Queenslanders get out, relax and enjoy some downtime at Ekka, in the state's capital city,” said AccorHotels Vice President of Operations Chris Sedgwick.
Ekka attracts more than 400,000 visitors to the grounds from across Queensland and Australia each year. Interestingly, many of these attendees are also competitors, with more than 21,000 competition entries in 11,000 classes across 42 competition categories.
Ekka General Manager Stephen Galbraith said the show was the largest event in the state with tens of thousands of people coming into the city. “AccorHotels has eight different hotels to choose from in Brisbane, providing great choice for visitors to the show,” he said.
During the 10 days of Ekka, thousands of animals are housed with a wide variety of animal parades, fairground rides, stage performances, food stalls and even a showbag alley. For the first time this year, Ekka is helping visitors to plan their day with a new itinerary building facility to be made available on their website.
Participating Brisbane hotels will combine overnight accommodation, breakfast and entry tickets for two to the Ekka. Breakfast is also complimentary for up to two children under 16. Guests can choose from 8 hotels in prime city locations, ranging from economy through to luxury.
