Mt Buller has welcomed another crisp blast of winter, with the resort enjoying 2cm of fresh snow in the past 24 hours, much to the delight of families enjoying the school holidays in the Alps. Snowflakes have continued to fall throughout the morning, with a maximum of 0 degrees forecast for Thursday.
The fresh snow has fallen during the first week of the Victorian school holidays, making it ideal conditions for snow enthusiasts and holiday makers. Chief Executive Officer of Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management, John Huber, said the fresh snow has created a lot of excitement around the village.
"This fresh dump of snow has come at a perfect time and with chilly temperatures, conditions are ideal for snowmaking which means we can really start getting the season underway.
"Mt Buller is an ideal destination for the school holidays, with plenty happening on and off the slopes to keep everyone busy. The next week is jam packed full of fun, with the 10th annual Burton Cattleman's Rail Jam, where Australia's top snowboarders will hit the Cattleman's rail in the heart of the Village Square, along with the Frank Freestyle Friday session in the terrain park all happening in the second week of the holidays. With fresh snow and plenty happening for all ages, we're feeling on top of the world here at Mt Buller!"
Mt Buller's school holiday program continues with the Bobsled Beats dance party at the Village Toboggan Slope and build their own super hero at the at the Bricks 4 Kidz® holiday workshop using specialised LEGO® Technic pieces, giving families plenty to see and do.
