Over the weekend of 13th -15th September, Nic Cerrone and his daughter Dominique, will showcase some of the most exclusive Cerrone creations and host personal Q&A sessions, all against the stunning backdrop of Lizard Island on the Great Barrier Reef.
With more than 40 years in business, Nic Cerrone is one of the most awarded jewellers and iconic craftsmen in Australia, and is known for his bespoke creations, such as the Elizabethan Ruff, set with 559 round brilliant-cut diamonds and the Million Dollar Necklace, a piece commissioned by the Argyle Diamond Mine.
The Weekend with Cerrone will start on Friday 13th September with welcome cocktails hosted by Lizard Island General Manager, Robyn Pontynen. Guests will be able to gather on the lawn overlooking Anchor Bay to enjoy cocktails while enjoying the opportunity of being able to chat informally with Nic and Dominique about the jewellery and to see some of the Cerrone pieces on display.
On Saturday 14th September, guests will be able to learn more about Nic Cerrone and his fascinating history in jewellery making during a Q&A session at 10am. This will be followed by a second optional Cerrone Q&A session, to be held at 5pm with drinks. Alternatively, guests can spend the afternoon indulging in a relaxing spa treatment at the Azure Spa, or enjoy snorkelling over 100-year-old clam gardens just metres from Lizard Island's beaches.
Guests will also be able to purchase some pieces from The Carmela Cerrone Collection, which has been specially created by Nic Cerrone's wife Carmela, and inspired by Lizard Island and available to purchase in the Resort Boutique.
"We are delighted to have Nic and Dominique Cerrone with us in September, and that we can offer our guests an informal but beautiful setting in which to experience and wear some of their most exquisite jewellery on our own island gem, Lizard Island," said Pontynen.
The Weekend with Cerrone event is part of the Lizard Island calendar of special events, and follows the highly successful gourmet weekend in May with celebrated Australian chef Neil Perry and Australian winemaker Wolf Blass.
Lizard Island is the northernmost resort on the Great Barrier Reef offering 40 luxurious suites, a five-star restaurant and spa, plus some of the best snorkelling and diving in the world.
