Celebrating over 50 Secret Retreats properties across Asia

(Bangkok - 12 September, 2014) Secret Retreats, a collection of independent luxury boutique hotels, boats and villas across Asia, has reached a new milestone with over 50 properties in 12 countries. Established in 2012, this month Secret Retreats has added 10 new properties and 5 new restaurants under Secret Tables in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines.

Governor's House - Phnom Penh, Cambodia

This exclusive 12 room boutique hotel is located in the heart of Boeung Keng Kang I, Phnom Penh's best downtown residential area. Once home to the senator of Phnom Penh, the colonial style mansion is decorated with original antiques.

Samanea Beach Spa Resort –Kep, Cambodia

A favourite destination of HE King Sihanouk during the 1950s, Samanea is a located in the middle of the Botanical Park. Surrounded by the sea and mangroves, each of the 10 villas have a private terrace with sea, garden or infinity pool views. The saltwater pool has an integrated Jacuzzi and a long jetty extends from Samanea's coast.

Cuisine Wat Damnak (Secret Table) –Siem Reap, Cambodia

Set in a beautifully renovated traditional house, weekly changing degustation menus showcase foraged and premium ingredients, served in the dining room, landscaped garden or Cambodian wooden room. The modern Cambodian cuisine focuses on local produce with a small touch of French sensitivity.

Vat Phou (Secret Cruise) –Mekong River, Laos

Cruise on the southern part of the Mekong River to visit the majestic UNESCO World Heritage Vat Phou ruins, Champassak, the mysterious Oum Muong ruins at Huei Thamo, the 4,000 Islands' myriad waterways, and the Pha Pheng waterfall on the Laos/Cambodia border. The teak boat has 12 air-conditioned cabins, two large open shaded air decks, a bar, and a restaurant.

David's Kitchen 909 (Secret Table) –Chiang Mai, Thailand

A new addition in Chiang Mai, David's Kitchen specialises in Modern French and Thai Fusion cuisine. Set on 18 Rai of manicured parkland on the Ping River in Sanpisuur, David's Kitchen sources organic produce whenever possible.

Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant (Secret Table) –Bangkok, Thailand

Meaning “season” in Thai, Le Du's culinary creations are based on seasonal produce. Le Du is a duo concept restaurant, which offers both à la carte and tasting menus featuring Thailand's extraordinary agricultural bounty and centuries-old culinary cultures.

YL Residence No. 17 (Secret Villa) –Koh Samui, Thailand

A unique 10 bedroom villa beachfront property with a Zen feel, YL Residence sits on 12.5 acres of frangipani landscaped gardens on the Southern coast of Koh Samui. Designed by architect Martin Palleros and described by Elle Décor magazine as “A place to truly experience a piece of heaven,” it is ideal for wedding celebrations and corporate retreats.

Reverie Siam Resort –Pai, Thailand

Situated in the bohemian town of Pai, this resort has 18 rooms and its retro design is inspired by the cultural fusion that occurred during the early part of the 20th century.

Le Passe-Temps (Secret Inn) –Krabi, Thailand

Nestled in the heart of Ao Phang Nga, 8 wooden bungalows are set on one of Asia's most beautiful and undiscovered bays. Offering scenic sea views, the swimming pool is just a few meters above the beach.

Flower Island Resort –Palawan, Philippines

Located on a remote island amidst a beautiful sea filled with abundant marine life, this resort has 20 diverse rooms situated near the beach, each with spacious bathrooms and large terraces.

Tandjung Sari –Bali, Indonesia

This legendary boutique beach hotel was built in the 1960s and has welcomed names like Mick Jagger. Shaded by huge trees, it was originally the private home of Wija Wawo-Runtu and his English wife Judith, before gradually expanding to accommodate friends, and friends of friends.

Cuca (Secret Tables) –Bali, Indonesia

Chef/owner Kevin Cherkas previously worked in three-star Michelin Arzak Restaurant in San Sebastian, El Bulli in Roses and Daniel in NYC. Cuca is a tapas, cocktails and dessert bar that sources local produce.

Locavore Restaurant (Secret Tables) –Bali, Indonesia

This small and cosy restaurant operated by a team of dedicated food enthusiasts serves cuisine using ingredients that celebrate the farmers, fisherman and artisans that the founders have met along their travels.
