Pan Pacific Hotels Group announces General Managers' Appointments in Australia

MELBOURNE

Craig Syphers has been appointed as General Manager of the 276-room PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport. The only hotel that connects directly to the city's Tullamarine International Airport, PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport was recently named "Best Airport Hotel, Australia/Pacific" at the 2013 World Airport Awards for the second year running.

A 30-year veteran in the hospitality industry, Craig spent the last decade managing various luxury and business hotels in Australia under Mirvac Hotels & Resorts and Carlton Hotel Group. Most recently, Craig was General Manager of Pullman Cairns International where he was named "General Manager of the Year 2010/2011" by Mirvac for his success in driving results and building strong stakeholder relationships.

Having undertaken managerial responsbilities in operations and sales at PARKROYAL hotels in Sydney during the early stages of his career, Craig is no stranger to the PARKROYAL brand. With his extensive experience in hotel operations and management, Craig is well-positioned to lead the team at the award-winning PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport to achieve higher performance standards.

PARRAMATTA, SYDNEY

After a successful tenure as General Manager of PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport, Michael Johnson has been appointed as General Manager of PARKROYAL Parramatta - a premier 196-room hotel in Western Sydney at the bank of the Parramatta River and at the centre of the shopping and entertainment belt on Church Street.

Michael brings to his new appointment an in-depth understanding of the hospitality industry in Australia and New Zealand, having close to 30 years of experience managing business hotels, resorts and tourist attractions across the two countries.

Originally from Sydney, Michael's local insights, coupled with his sound hotelier knowledge and skills, will not only serve to enhance the hotel's performance but also enrich the PARKROYAL brand positioning of 'Your Local Connection'.

Craig Bond, Area General Manager, Oceania, Pan Pacific Hotels Group says, "With their rich hospitality experience and knowledge, Craig and Michael bring new and exciting perspectives to our teams at PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport and PARKROYAL Parramatta. I welcome both of them to the Group and look forward to working closely with them."

Pan Pacific Hotels Group's portfolio in Australia includes two other hotels - namely PARKROYAL Darling Harbour, Sydney and Pan Pacific Perth.

PARKROYAL Darling Harbour, Sydney, which had undergone a recent multi-million dollar refurbishment, now offers a fresh, contemporary interior, enhanced Club Lounge amenities and the latest in hotel technology. Meanwhile, Pan Pacific Perth is a classic luxury hotel surrounded by scenic vistas of Perth's Swan River and lush historic gardens.
