Two years ago, the Seychelles Tourism Academy and Constance Hospitality Academy signed a Memorandum of Understanding providing for exchange of students and lecturers from the two academies.
Under the renewed Memorandum of Understanding, Constance Hospitality Academy will now provide for advanced courses in events management, housekeeping management, wellness and Spa management and in a diploma in hospitality management.
Flavien Joubert, the Principal of the Seychelles Tourism Academy said that the Constance Hospitality Academy has been “supportive of human resource development in the Seychelles tourism industry and that these new courses are now designed for professionals in-service candidates and students”.
It was in the presence of Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, that the Memorandum of Understanding was renewed between Elsia Grandcourt, Chief Executive Officer of Seychelles Tourism Board, Flavien Joubert, Principal of Seychelles Tourism Academy and Claude Narrain, General Manager of Constance Hospitality Training Centre.
Elsia Grandcourt commended Constance Hospitality Academy for solidifying the working relationship with the Seychelles Tourism Academy saying that that the “renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Seychelles Tourism Academy and Constance Hospitality Academy “further sealed the partnership between the two institutions”. For his part Minister Alain St.Ange said that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding is proof that “Constance Hospitality Academy believes in the Seychelles tourism Industry and they want to working with us for the continued development of Seychelles and the Constance Hotels in partnership in Seychelles”.
“I feel proud to see that the Seychelles Tourism Academy has been able to be recognised. I congratulate our Tourism Academy and Constance Hotels because the memorandum ties these two institutions further’’ said Minister St.Ange.
Claude Narrain, General Manager of Constance Hospitality Training Centre said that “the signing of the agreement is to further strengthen human resource development in tourism industry in Seychelles’’.
“ We have started something which we cannot stop, now we will continue to collaborate even more with the Seychelles Tourism Academy to ensure professionals in the tourism management sector get the necessary tools to better improve their work and their ability to deliver the level of service required’’ said Claude Narrain.
Under the existing Memorandum of Understanding, 66 staff of Seychelles Tourism Academy have already benefited from 1 month to 9 months work attachments with Constance Hospitality Academy. Over one hundred students from Seychelles Tourism Academy have been trained at the Constance Hospitality Academy or benefited from work attachment in Constance‘s high end properties in Mauritius, namely the Belle Mare Plage Resort and the Constance Prince Mauritius.
Constance Hotels of Mauritius have their biggest properties in Seychelles with their Ephelia Resort and their Lemuria Resort & Golf of Praslin Island.
