Captain's Choice Commemorates Gallipoli Centenary

Captain's Choice ANZAC Centenary Silversea Gallipoli Cruise Charter

April 25, 2015 marks the 100-year anniversary of Gallipoli, when the brave men of Anzac were thrown into the fray of an ill-planned battle and sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

Experience the still beauty of Anzac Cove with a once in a lifetime Gallipoli 2015 exclusive private cruise charter. Strictly limited suites remain aboard Silversea's 6 star luxury liners, Silver Wind and Silver Cloud. With almost one staff member to every passenger and 24-hour personal butlers, it's cruising as it should be.

Just 250 fortunate guests per luxury ship will have the opportunity to set sail on this commemorative experience, enjoying Champagne and fine dining while docking at big city ports and rarely seen harbours. Onboard military experts will add to the ANZAC experience, including recently retired Lieutenant General Ken Gillespie and the former Chief Defence Force, Admiral Chris Barrie. Chris retired in 2002 after over 41 years of service in the Royal Australian Navy while Ken retired from the Army in 2011 after 43 years of service. All of our military guest speakers bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the tour.

The 17 day experience commences with a very special Welcome Dinner in Athens and sails on to Turkey for the Dawn Service. Due to limited space at Anzac Cove, the Government ballot permits just 6,000 Australians and 2,000 New Zealanders to attend the service on shore. Those who remain onboard the ship can watch the Dawn Service on large screens while off the Gallipoli Peninsula.

After paying respects at the Lone Pine Cemetery, the ships will continue a captivating journey to discover the beautiful island of Lesvos and on to Navplion, surrounded by stunning Greek ruins. Voyaging further afield, guests will explore Albania, Montenegro, Croatia and Slovenia before parting ways in Venice.

For those looking for a more extensive adventure, there are a number of Captain's Choice tours available to add on before or after Gallipoli 2015.

Included in the tour price are all travel, pre and post cruise arrangements, on shore sightseeing excursions, all meals including drinks plus tips, taxes, transfers and travel insurance, a large Tour Host team and accompanying doctor.

Sailing aboard Silver Wind with Founder and Director Phil Asker, or aboard Silver Cloud with Managing Director Dan Kotzmann, Gallipoli Centenary is sure to become one of the most memorable journeys ever.
