Niue Tourism is welcoming the continuation of Air New Zealand's second seasonal service to Niue commencing April 2015.
The second service will start a month earlier than the previous year enabling valuable additional capacity for the April school holidays and Niue's popular, biennial Arts Festival that runs from 10-17 April 2015. Niue Island's Director of Tourism, Vanessa Marsh says, “the earlier start is a great boost to tourism for the region and makes promoting special events and school holiday periods all the more viable.”
Ms. Marsh points to the vast array of family focused and nature based activities that the island has to offer and says it will be great to promote these to Australian families who are looking for ways to prise their kids away from screens and man-made entertainment for an authentic family holiday experience in a pristine environment.
Tickets are now available for sale for Air New Zealand's Niue flights for 2015 with the second service commencing 08 April and running through until mid October.
News also welcomed on island this week is the announcement by New Zealand Hotel brand, Scenic Hotel Group of their management contract to Matavai Resort. The island's only full service resort will be rebranded Scenic Matavai Resort Niue. Scenic also run a four star hotel in Tonga.
Ms. Marsh says that whilst Matavai has worked extremely hard in delivering a great visitor experience over many years and has recently redeveloped its food and beverage offering, the benefits of a well established brand will lift Matavai to another level whilst retaining its special place on the island and with its guests.
Ms. Marsh adds that these recent announcements reflect Niue's growing status as the place to visit, and are welcome additions to the tourism infrastructure enhancements that have taken place across the island over the past three years.
