For Australian skiers who are perhaps thinking right now of where to ski during the northern hemisphere winter, then Gangwon province in Korea is a good choice with Pyeongchang playing host to the upcoming 2018 Winter Olympics.

Not only is it a great place to ski but Gangwon Province have published a free coupon book offering visitors big discounts on accommodation, restaurants and places to visit in the region. The discount coupons in the free booklet are valid until 31 March, 2015.

Yongpyong (Dragon Valley) Resort is already very popular with Australian skiers and the nearby Alpensia Resort are the two main resorts which will be the centre of the main competition venues at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Phoenix Park Resort which is further down the mountains near Wonju is also a great place to ski, especially for families. Phoenix Park as well as many of the ski resorts in Korea offer skiing at all hours of the day and night, so skiers can enjoy a wide variety of activities and ski all hours.
