New Air Canada services connect Australian travellers with the Big Apple

unnamed (9)Air Canada is launching a new direct service between Vancouver and New York this month that creates a more convenient way for Australian travellers to fly into the Big Apple.

Air Canada operates daily non-stop flights from Sydney to Vancouver International Airport, with passengers arriving in Canada at 7.40am. From 26 October 2014, the service will seamlessly connect with Air Canada’s new direct flights to Newark Liberty International Airport, which depart Vancouver at 9.15am.

The return flight from Newark will arrive in Vancouver at 9.50pm, giving passenger a comfortable 110 minutes before they board their homebound flight to Sydney.

Circle Line 2 Hour Semi-Circle Cruise Tour
General Manager Australia and New Zealand Paul McLean says the new Sydney-Vancouver-New York service is an exciting development for the Australian market.

“Our daily Vancouver-Newark flights are perfectly timed because they provide Australian holidaymakers with a new and enticing way to indulge their affection for New York City," says McLean. "They also create an opportunity for Australians to enjoy a two-nation vacation by slipping in a visit to Canada's spectacular west coast either on the way to the Big Apple or on the return journey.

"For business travellers - who can already avoid the notoriously long queues seen at some major US gateways by quickly clearing US Customs in Vancouver - the new connection establishes an efficient route to the United States' east coast."

Air Canada currently operates a Boeing 777-200 aircraft on its popular Sydney-Vancouver route, but from 28 October the carrier will switch to a larger Boeing 777-300, adding an extra 79 Economy Class per flight.
